Meet the Dentists

Sarah Baldwin, D.M.D.

Dr. Baldwin was born in Iran but moved to America with her family when she was four years old. She grew up in the Bay Area, where she attended high school, and then moved to Texas to study at the University of Texas at Dallas. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned her dental degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, AZ. She moved back to Texas after graduating in 2007 to work in the Dallas, Fort Worth area, then migrated back to the Bay Area, where she has been practicing ever since.

As a general and family dentist, Dr. Baldwin loves treating patients of all ages. She’s also committed to educating her patients about good hygiene. When patients understand their needs and know how to care for their smiles, they can enjoy better oral health from one appointment to another.

Dr. Baldwin was also awarded a certificate in public health and has participated with Give Kids a Smile and the Boys and Girls Club.

She is happily married with two children, one of whom is in college. Her other child plays competitive soccer in the Bay Area. Dr. Baldwin and her husband are big fans of football, basketball, soccer, and boxing. On weekends they love to relax by enjoying the outdoors or catching up on the latest books or movies.

Dr. Seema McMaster

Dr McMaster started working as a general dentist in India and was part of the teaching faculty in the department of Prosthodontics. She moved to North America and graduated from the prestigious University Of California, San Francisco, School Of Dentistry (UCSF). Her interest in surgeries grew as she spent all her quarterly school break doing clerkships. She did clerkships in different hospitals including San Francisco general, UCSF and Community medical Center.

After graduation she pursued a postgraduate Internship program in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Fresno, a program affiliated to University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (UOP), San Francisco. At UMC Fresno, a Level 1 trauma center, she received extensive training in handling surgical cases related to head and facial trauma, IV sedation, complex extractions including wisdom teeth extractions and handling patients with complex health issues. She also took several courses in Implants over the years. She has also taken hundreds of hours of training in conventional orthodontics besides being Invisalign certified. Dr McMaster is also ACLS certified and has extensive experience in I.V therapy. 

She has owned her own dental office and practiced as a solo practitioner in the East Bay Area for over 10 years. 

In her free time she also enrolls in college courses to keep herself up to date and have a breath of knowledge to understand the world around us a little better. In recent years she has taken classes in Sociology, Mythology, and Ocean Studies. She believes that continuous learning is essential for personal growth.

She is also a California certified advocate for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence and provides support to survivors. Dr McMaster along with her husband also volunteer for several local dog rescue groups. They have fostered and rescued more than fifty German Shepherds and Labradors over the years. 

Dr McMaster and her husband love to travel and have traveled to several countries and look forward to doing more of the same. When she's unable to travel, she goes skydiving, kayaking, hang gliding, camping, rain hiking with her two lovely German Shepherd dogs and she also enjoys playing tennis and oil painting.

Dr. Joyce Chi

Dr. Chi was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to the USA when she was 15 years old. After completing high school in Texas, she moved to California in 2005 and attended UC Davis. After completing her undergraduate degree, she pursued her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the UCSF School of Dentistry (earning honors in several clinical courses, including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics) and also completed a UCSF Externship at Federally Qualified Health Clinic. She then underwent a General Practice Residency in the VA San Diego Healthcare System.

After practicing dentistry in a hospital setting for some time, Dr. Chi decided to fully transition to private practice in July of 2016. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. For her, the most rewarding part of dentistry is helping people make small changes that result in big improvements in their oral health. She enjoys being able to alleviate pain and resolve problems for patients when they need it the most.

Dr. Chi is married and owns a small restaurant in Oakland with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys exercise and fitness, food and wine tasting, cooking, traveling, and dogs
